Weekly Update Tuesday 9th June

Its a pity our good weather broke at the weekend. However it didn't deter some of us from getting out and about ;

John's report ;

Camping was cancelled on Saturday night because of the terrible weather that evening.

On Sunday we had 18 walkers out on the Galtees in beautiful walking conditions and stunning views. Before the walk we broke into two groups

The Iranian Group lead by Mike Mc (10 members in total) completed a difficult walk in 6 hours 30 minutes. Congrads to Ursula Egan and Catheriona Hughes for completed their first difficult walk with the club.This walk took in Lough Curra, Knockaterriff, Knockaterriff beg and Lyracappul. Cyril took a break away group of 3 up Temple Hill to add to this walk as well.

The second group of Non-Iranians lead by ME completed a more relaxed walk in 5 hours 30 minutes. We easily out performed the Iranian walkers taking in Slievecushnabinnia(766), Galtymore (919) and Galtee Beg(799). We enjoyed a victory drink in O Briens afterwards as we waited for the iranians to arrive. Well done to all my crew.
